Israeli Apartheid Week 2022

Israeli Apartheid Week 2022

Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is a global annual grassroots event
which seeks to raise awareness about the Apartheid character of
Israel and build support for the growing Boycott, Divestment and
Sanctions (BDS) movement demanding an end to Israeli
violations of Palestinian rights and international law.
IAW provides an opportunity to network and strengthen the links
between the Palestinian liberation struggle and other struggles
against racism, oppression, and discrimination.

IAW takes place each year around 21 March – the UN declared
International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination –
which commemorates the 1960 Sharpeville massacre during the
height of South African Apartheid.

This year’s theme ‘United Against Racism’ highlights the fact that
the Palestinian struggle against Israeli oppression and Apartheid
is embedded in the wider struggle against racism and oppression
worldwide.

For the 18th consecutive year, once again we will join our voices
to denounce Israeli Apartheid, highlight our common struggles
and celebrate our diversity.
